Extension of the Giraffe and Zebra Enclosure
Construction work on the extension of the giraffe and zebra enclosure began in February 2026. This entirely donation-funded project will bring significant improvements to the living conditions of the giraffes and zebras. At the same time, the new enclosure will offer visitors fresh perspectives and further enhance the zoo’s appeal.
The construction work is currently progressing rapidly. The old terrarium has been demolished, the new enclosure boundaries have been landscaped, and a dry moat has been created. Work is now underway on a new zebra shelter and new visitor pathways. Finally, the area will be newly planted, after which the giraffes and zebras will at last be able to explore their expanded enclosure.
