World Otter Day

They are the most charming swimming stars here at the zoo: our smooth-coated otters in the Orangutan House delight visitors with their playful and lively nature. On 31 May, an exciting programme awaits you, designed to raise awareness of the conservation of these charismatic predators and to give zoo visitors of all ages fascinating insights into the otters’ world.

From 10 am to 5 pm, you can look forward to:

» Hands-on activities at the Zooscouts’ otter information stand

» Test your knowledge in the otter quiz

» Make your own little paper otter

» Meet the keepers and watch them feed our smooth-coated otters Ravi, Haron, Hasina and Hema in the Orangutan House:

11.00 am: Ice bomb in the indoor enclosure by the large underwater window

3.00 pm: Feeding in the outdoor enclosure
