Three-banded armadillos welcome a new arrival

We are delighted to welcome the offspring of our female armadillo Bu. This is the fourth pup for the four-year-old female.

The little one is about the size of a mandarin, and our cautious first check revealed that it is a male pup.

He will remain hidden and well protected in the birthing box for a while, where he will be suckled by Bu for two to three months. Father Gurt is living in a separate enclosure while the young pup is being cared for.
