Happy Birthday Daisy

Animal news | 20 March 2021

Female orangutan Daisy.

Saturday saw our female orangutan Daisy celebrate her 30th birthday, with a surprise sugar-free curd cheese cake and a few gifts. Little Dalai and partner Toni also got to share in the goodies. Daisy was born at our zoo on 20 March 1991 and has since brought up three youngsters of her own. Dalai, the youngest, turns six this year. Daisy’s 47-year-old mum Djudi also lives here at the zoo, in a group with her half-sister Djaka.
