Our first baby flamingo has hatched and many more chicks could soon follow.

This spring the red flamingos were once again busy building cup-shaped mounds for their nests, and the first two chicks emerged last weekend. They probably won’t be the last, as the nests hold another 12 or 13 eggs. However, it remains to be seen whether these have all have been successfully fertilised.
